Organic Yellow & Brown Shower

Jaime is having a girl!”  The fabulous event planner Jeannie Savage of Details Details exclaims about this gorgeous baby shower.  Known for her extraordinary styling and acute attention to detail, Jeannie is the creative genius behind Details Details, which was handpicked for The Knot’s Best of Weddings 2010 list, and Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book.  She’s excited to share with us this delightful yellow & brown baby shower she planned.  Read her party planning details below!

“Jaime is having a girl! But didn’t want anything pink or too girly…she loves organic and the DIY feel. Which is perfect for us, as we got crafty when we could. We found her invitations online at Tiny Prints, a mustard yellow and brown baby bird, similar colors to her baby room.  Patty, the other hostess, who is Jaime’s co-worker made the desserts, from cake pops, to lemon cakes to brownies!  The bird cake was too cute to cut up!  We ordered the cupcakes fromv Frostings Cupcakes (that was too risky to make, plus they have cute wood fork and knife).  Patty found brown and mustard patterned fabric and I hot glued them to make them like pillow cases, placed the cupcakes inside and tied it up.  Party favor labels I ordered when I ordered the invites…to match.  We used the same design when creating the Baby Word Scramble Game.  And the baby food tasting game!  The hardest one was pear, everyone thought it was apple!  I think the Chicken and Pasta one was hard too!  Finding clothes in the colors was super hard, after 7 stores, we found adorable skirts and sweaters. Patty bought white onesies and sewed little pinwheels on them to make them more cheery and in line with our color theme. Nisie’s Enchanted Florist created beautiful bark wrapped containers and twigs wrapped around to vase to make it look like a birds nest, with mustard yellow roses, coxcomb, berries, and moss.  The amazing Christopher Aldama, once a former caterer, of Fiori Fresco Special Events, made all the delicious salads..steak salad, pesto chicken salad, cashew cole slaw and asparagus citrus salad with lemon zest.  But to start off the party, all the cheese you can imagine…my favorite, Humbolt fog goat cheese with fresh honeycomb!  Oh and the baby pickles, to die for.”

Did you hand paint the “BABY” letters to match your theme?

I absolutely ADORE this theme! Very tastefully done and captures the true essence of natural organic. I would love to feature this on my website on our “Organic Theme Baby Shower” page if that would be alright with you. I would of course give credit where credit is due and provide a link to your page. Can’t wait to hear back from you!
